沫蝉早期分异及现代沫蝉起源研究取得系列进展

 沫蝉总科是现生蝉亚目第三大类群:目前已报道约 2600 种,分布于世界大多数陆地生境中。目前,该总科被分为五个现生科,即沫蝉科(Cercopidae)、尖胸沫蝉科(Aphrophoridae)、长盾沫蝉科(Clastopteridae)、棘沫蝉科(Machaerotidae)和Epipygidae。现生沫蝉分子目前最早化石记录为新生代古近纪,代表分子为沫蝉科和尖胸沫蝉科。已知的中生代沫蝉科归为三个灭绝科,即原沫蝉科(Procercopidae)、华翅蝉科(Sinoalidae)和 Cercopionidae

 近年来,临沂大学地质与古生物所与英国自然历史博物馆、波兰格丹斯克得到、土耳其克尔谢希尔大学、中国科学院南京地质古生物研究所、北京动物所等国内外科研单位合作,对中生代沫蝉相关类群进行了详尽的分类学修订,报道了产自中国东北中上中生界地层和缅甸克钦琥珀的化石标本,并进行了系统发育学分析,从而在沫蝉早期分异及现代沫蝉起源等方面取得了系列进展。

 研究共记述中生代沫蝉11新属15新种,报道了华翅蝉科最晚化石记录,极大的扩展了早期华翅蝉多样性及时空分布等相关资料。同时,通过大数据分析发现道虎沟侏罗翅蝉表现出极高的雌性比率,这一现象在现生沫蝉类群中从未报道过,表明中生代沫蝉某些类群可能演化出不同于现代沫蝉的独特生态及行为习性。基于新类群记述、分类学修订及系统发育分析对中生代原沫蝉演化历程进行了探讨,研究结果表明原沫蝉为 Cercopionidae 和现代沫蝉祖先类群,而早白垩世中国沫蝉和星形沫蝉代表原沫蝉科向后者过渡的类型,同时现代沫蝉的起源和早期辐射可能和白垩纪早中期被子植物冠类群大规模辐射相关。
